SharkIn is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can exercise your rights.
1. What We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your Contact Data (name, email, phone number) and Identity Data. Companies/Sellers additionally provide business metrics, financial data, and organization details for listing verification. Investors provide KYC documents (including identity proofs) as required by regulations. We also collect usage and technical data such as IP address and browser type.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to: operate the marketplace; facilitate introductions and deals between Companies and Investors; verify seller metrics; send transactional emails; conduct analytics to improve the platform; and comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: the counterparty in a deal (e.g., sharing a Company's Business Information with an Investor after interest is expressed and NDA is executed); payment processors for escrow and fees; identity verification providers for KYC; and law enforcement if legally directed.
4. Confidentiality of Business Information
For Companies, sensitive Business Information (financials, valuations, strategies) is only shared with approved Investors upon request. Investors are bound by strict confidentiality obligations not to disclose this information or use it outside the purpose of exploring a transaction.
5. Metric Verification
Sellers may grant read-only access to their payment processor and analytics accounts for verification. This access is scoped to aggregated revenue and usage data needed for metric reconciliation. We do not access transaction-level PII of your customers.
6. Data Retention
Account data is retained while your account is active. Upon deletion, personal data is removed within a reasonable timeframe (typically 30 days), except where required to be retained by law. Deal records and transaction logs may be retained for up to 7 years under Indian laws.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for session management and authentication. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies, but some platform features will not function correctly.
8. Security
We implement robust security measures. All data is transmitted over HTTPS, passwords are hashed, and sensitive KYC documents are encrypted at rest. However, no electronic transmission is entirely secure, and you share information at your own risk.
9. Your Rights
Subject to applicable Indian law (e.g., the DPDP Act 2023), you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to withdraw consent for non-essential processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
10. Children
The Services are restricted to users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
